July Wedding At Grand Isle Lake House

Wednesday, July 18th, 2012

Krista and Andy had the most incredible day for their Vermont wedding in Grand Isle this July.  Their ceremony at Ira Allen Chapel was filled with laughter and afterwards guests headed up to Grand Isle Lake House for a tented reception on the lawn.  The bride was not afraid of color so we used vibrant blooms to create a summer garden feeling.

Krista carried a bouquet of pink peonies, raspberry pink roses, yellow freesia, orange, yellow & pink ranunculus and bupleurum tied with a silk ribbon and finished with two broaches that the bride selected.

I also like to show a bouquet from the bride’s perspective.  Pearl pins mark the back of this bouquet.

Bridesmaids’ bouquets include mini green hydrangea, orange & raspberry pink roses, dianthus, freesia and bupleurum for a nice contrast to their navy dresses.

A sweet little flower girl basket for an important member of the wedding party!

Raspberry pink was the accent color for the sashes on the girls’ dresses as well as the boutonnieres for the men.

Colorful centerpieces in silver bowls added a pop of color and elegance under the tent.

I loved this super sweet signage for the grandmother of the bride and other important guests!

A formal head table is back in style this season!

Ceremony arrangements were transferred into sap buckets for the reception.

Here is a sign that guests love to see at a wedding!

Centerpieces were lined up and ready to be placed on the tables.

And finally, a toss bouquet of peony and roses.

Congratulations to Krista and Andy!  A truly beautiful day greeted you and your guests in a picture perfect setting!  I hope it was all you dreamed it would be and more.

June Wedding At The Coach Barn

Wednesday, July 11th, 2012

Our 2012 wedding season is off to a later-than-usual start since I took a few months off to adjust to our new life with our son, John, but we kicked it off on June 30th at The Coach Barn at Shelburne Farms for Lauren and Steve’s wedding.  The style was both eclectic and vintage inspired with a gardeny feeling to keep in step with the season and beautiful location.

The bride carried a bouquet of white peonies, dahlias, roses, hydrangea, lisianthus and scabiosa with accents of ornamental kale, trachellium, fresh mint and ranunculus.

Here’s another shot of the bride’s bouquet.  I adore this color combination.

Kale is paired with roses, hydrangea, freesia and scabiosa for her attendants’ bouquets.

You can’t forget a little clutch bouquet for mom!

Boutonnieres that were not too flowery include scabiosa, trachellium, seeded eucalyptus and myrtle..

It was a truly stunning day for an outdoor wedding.

Centerpieces in wooden boxes were filled with dahlias, roses, hydrangea, kale, poppy pods, scabiosa, trachellium, eucalyptus and eryngium.

Eclectic vintage-style bottles also adorned the tables.

Place cards were displayed on old shutters in the elevator room.

Congratulations to Lauren and Steve who travelled from the other side of Lake Champlain for their destination wedding!  I hope you and your guests (some who travelled all the way from South Africa to share in the festivities!) had the best day.  You certainly chose a quintessential Vermont setting and a paired it with perfect weather.
