I usually post one wedding per week during my busy season, but I’ve got a twofer for ya this week.  On Tuesday I shared a blue and white wedding and today I’ve got some orange and blue blooms to brighten your Thursday.  We had two blue weddings in two weeks and the next two weeks also include some blue flowers…it’s kinda my “blue period” this year.

Jacquelyn and Jeremy’s ”orange & blueberry” colored wedding took place over Labor Day weekend at Grand Isle Lake House.  You may have seen me bragging about my super talented couple’s DIY save-the-dates which were made by the groom.  Their overall style was a vintage, ’40′s-esque, travel theme with orange and blue tones represented throughout the day.

First, I’ve got a couple shots of the bridal bouquet.  The bride carried an orange and white bouquet with a few blue accent tones including orange callas, white and orange dahlias, ranunculus, freesia, crocosmia, thistle and delphinium.

I love an orange and white flower combo and the touches of blue really complement them nicely.

 Her four attendants carried slightly smaller bouquets of dahlias, callas, freesia, ranunculus and spray roses with crocosmia and thistle accents.

The boutonnieres were made of orange callas with a touch of myrtle and crocosmia buds.

All packed up and ready for delivery!

The ceremony took place under the arbor with the lake in the background.  Gerberas, dahlias, snapdragons, spray roses, delphinium, thistle and bupleurum framed the space.

I love their super cute placecards.  Their ’40′s inspired details were fantastic.

I added a few floral details to the display.

The wedding programs were also waaay cool and displayed with vintage handkerchiefs.

In step with the vintage theme the centerpieces were designed in blue mason jars borrowed from a friend.  Hey, that’s something borrowed AND blue!

The couple also made the table numbers.

Congratulations to Jacquelyn and Jeremy on a beautifully crafted destination wedding!  I’m sure you and your guests danced the night away to Ella Fitzgerald, relaxed on the porch and sipped mint juleps (or something equally old-timey).  I absolutely love your handcrafted, vintage style!  (Below is their save-the-date postcard designed by the groom…in case you missed it!)

Andrea and Robert were married at Basin Harbor Club just one day before Hurricane Irene barreled through Vermont.  Their wedding included blue, white and green flowers for a clean, crisp palette to suit the lakeside setting.  The bride is from Vermont and her family still lives in the area, but the couple planned their destination wedding from out of state.  There was a classic, preppy style to the flower designs and it was a fantastic day for an outdoor wedding in the beautiful gardens.

The bride’s bouquet included white hydrangea, roses, ranunculus and blue nigella.

 Her seven attendants wore “electric blue” dresses and the color looked great on all of the girls.

The ceremony took place under the arbor with an aisle lined with rose petals.

 I’m pretty sure this special little chair was reserved for the ring bearer.  So cute!

Centerpieces were designed in square glass vases filled with blue and green hydrangea, two shades of blue delphinium, white roses, lavender freesia, nigella and accents of candy tuft.

Placecards were displayed on a sheet of moss with hydrangea accents tucked into miniature versions of the iconic Club chairs.

Blue hydrangea also accented the cake display.

The cocktail hour had some sweet details as well.

Specialty cocktails had special signage, too!

Congratulations to Andrea and Robert!  Despite the impending weather the day was absolutely gorgeous and so were both of you.  You were a great couple to work with…Robert is one of my grooms who gets props for being involved in the details of the planning!  I hope you enjoyed every moment of the day.

Rachel and Mike tied the knot on a beautiful sumer day at The Quechee Club.  Their destination wedding had a colorful, gardeny feeling with raspberry pink, orange, yellow, green and white flowers.  The couple lives in D.C., but they met at Dartmouth College so a New England wedding was a perfect fit!

Rachel carried a bouquet of pink dahlias, roses, yellow and pink freesia, orange and white ranunculus, and mini green hydrangea tied with a raspberry pink silk dupioni ribbon.

Her six bridesmaids wore blue dresses and carried colorful bouquets similar to the bride’s with orange dahlias and white nigella.

The men wore boutonnieres of rosemary and yellow spray roses with hypericum berries.

It was a perfect Vermont day for an outdoor wedding at Murphy Farm.  Our birch chuppah helped set the scene.

Their reception at the Quechee Club also showcased a nature-inspired theme with birch centerpieces of gardeny designs including dahlias, raspberry pink roses, godetia, ranunculus, mini green hydrangea, dianthus and yellow spray roses.

Guests were greeted with a piece of fresh rosemary or hypericum berries set with their menus.

A placecard display of branches in birch containers was also in-step with the natural branchy style of the wedding.

Congratulations to Rachel and Mike on your destination wedding!  I can recall our first conversation last October and it was such a joy to see everything come together (including beautiful weather!) for your perfect day!

Kristen and Timothy were married in Stowe, VT with a reception at Stowe Mountain Lodge.  I can remember my first conversation with the bride when she described the style she wanted as peaceful and romantic.  I had never heard someone use the word “peaceful” to describe their wedding style and I liked it…a lot!

Elegant white blooms of roses, hydrangea and ranunculus created a look that was clean and natural for their destination wedding.  The bride carried white roses, sweet peas, lisianthus, ranunculus and stephanotis.  The stems were wrapped with lace from the bride’s dress.

The bridesmaids wore green dresses and carried bouquets of white hydrangea, roses and ranunculus.  The flower girls and mothers also carried small clutch bouquets.

Boutonnieres and corsages were made of spray roses and stephanotis for the groom.

 The eight attendants’ bouquets were packed and ready to go to Stowe!

 For the reception at Stowe Mountain Lodge the centerpieces included hydrangea, roses, ranunculus, lisianthus and star of Bethlehem with aspidistra leaves to hide the stems.

The place cards were displayed in wooden trays with moss and lily grass wrapped votives.

Kristen is a teacher and her students put together an unbelievably cute collection of stories for the wedding.  Here is what one student wrote for the letter “V”.  {I personally love the “very exciting voyage into marriage” and “valuing each other’s virtues”!}

I truly consider myself lucky to have a job that elicits compliments on my work and thank you’s from my clients, but the biggest compliment by far is when I am hired to work on more than one wedding in a family.  I designed the flowers for the sister of the bride’s wedding in 2009 and when their mom contacted me about Stacey and Justin’s wedding at Spruce Peak in Stowe I was both flattered and excited to have the opportunity to work with the family again.

The colors for the wedding were a clean, crisp palette of whites, greens, yellows and blues.  The bride carried white lisianthus, roses, sweet peas, freesia, mini green hydrangea and fresh oregano tied with a band of green silk dupioni ribbon.

The bridesmaids wore blue dresses and carried bouquets with yellow accent tones of ranunculus and freesia.

 I’m kinda loving these bouquets paired with the antique tin ceiling background.

The weather was absolutely perfect for their July wedding on the natural stone patio at Spruce Peak.

Centerpieces in birch containers were filled with white and green hydrangea, poppy pods, yellow snapdragons, spray roses, cottage yarrow, bupleurum, curly willow and blue delphinium for a fresh, summery look.

Perrin Williams of Vermont Cake Studio created a lovely display for dessert.

Wine corks greeted guests with their table number.

For their rehearsal dinner at Stowe Mountain Lodge I designed centerpieces of yellow irises, fresh mint, roses, sweet peas and green hydrangea to complement the style of the next day’s designs without giving away the entire look of the wedding.

The majority of the wedding planning was handled by the mother of the bride since the couple lives in Colorado and due to the timing of the day I never got the chance to meet the bride or the groom (crazy, I know!), but I can say that it was a genuine pleasure to have the opportunity to be a part of both daughters’ weddings!   Congrats to Stacey and Justin who had one of the most beautiful days of the summer for their outdoor ceremony.  (And congratulations to MOB, Carole, for planning two destination weddings in VT over the past few years!)  I look forward to seeing your smiling faces in pics from Kathleen Landwehrle!
