White And Silver Winter Wedding Flowers

Thursday, March 28th, 2013

Meline and Evans hosted their destination wedding on New Year’s weekend and they had a picturesque winter wonderland awaiting their arrival.  The color palette was winter whites and silvers while being sure to stay clear of a holiday vibe.  We did all of our planning & discussions long distance via e-mail, but with a little trust and some vision we can easily make the flower magic happen!

Mel carried a bouquet of white ranunculus, roses, scabiosa, silver brunnia, eucalyptus and hydrangea.  This color and floral combo is so perfect for winter, but would fit in with any season!

 Congratulations to Meline and Evans!

Here is Mel’s review on WeddingWire.com…

“Alison’s work was beautiful, and represented exactly what we discussed. Since we weren’t located in the area we never met her, but it didn’t matter because she was so thoughtful and listened so well during our conversations. The flowers couldn’t have been more beautiful, and Alison followed up the day before the wedding just to confirm the last minute details and give me peace of mind that everything was going to work out well. Would highly recommend working with Alison.”

Happy couples seriously make my day!

Fall Wedding At West Monitor Barn

Thursday, January 31st, 2013

Shannon and Darren had their destination wedding at The West Monitor Barn in September.  The very beginnings of fall were felt in the air and their color palette reflected that seasonal style with reds, oranges and yellow contrasted with purples for a slight twist on traditional “fall colors”.  Occasions Catering was on site to tend to all of the details and the talented Stina Booth of Studio SB captured all the details of the day.

The bride carried a bouquet of orange roses, yellow freesia, purple callas, anemones, montbretia, red spray roses, hypericum berries and agonis.  I absolutely love the way these colors look together.

Her bridesmaids carried smaller, similar bouquets to contrast with their deep purple dresses.  Stina captured this great shot of the bouquets!

A mom’s clutch bouquet made up of purple anemone, callas, asters, orange roses & red spray roses with freesia and hypericum berries.

The ceremony took place in an open field under a wooden arbor adorned with garlands of fresh greenery and flowers to complement the wedding party’s flowers.

The men wore calla boutonnieres with grey suits.  Stina captured such a cute moment here!

Shannon acquired lanterns for her tabletops and wanted a few floral accents for some color.  Orange callas, spray roses, asters, viking poms, hypericum berries and agonis add a fresh element to the tables.

The orange callas were stunning with nearly yellow centers that turned to nearly red tips.

Congratulations to Shannon and Darren who introduced many of their destination guests to the beauty of a Vermont fall day!

These last two are just for fun…  I had a partner in my studio this season!

As always I love when you share the love!

Vermont Fall Wedding At The Round Barn

Wednesday, December 12th, 2012

Brenda and Mark were wed on a gorgeous fall day at The Inn At The Round Barn this October.  A truly picturesque location, the Round Barn offers so many beautiful pastoral views and opportunities for a classic Vermont backdrop.  Its quintessential Vermont vibe is sure to wow even native Vermonters and this autumnal color palette fit seamlessly into the natural landscape.

The bride carried a bouquet of burgundy dahlias, scabiosa, orange ranunculus, freesia, roses, mini green hydrangea and hypericum berries with agonis for a foliage accent.

Here’s another view of the bride’s bouquet.

Bridesmaids’ bouquets in the seasonal palette also included safari sunset and two shades of orange roses.

Our birch arbor for the ceremony works nicely with the scenery.

A closer look at the arbor decor.

Large arrangements in wooden sap buckets flanked each side of the arbor.

Centerpieces were designed in antique milk bottles collected by the bride and her family filled with dahlias, hydrangea, snapdragons, safari sunset, hypericum berries, agonis and millet with a grapevine wreath atop birch wood slab for a rustic touch.

As a Vermonter who planned from out of state the bride recruited some help from her mom who executed some important details.  They selected our most stunning season to gather friends and family together.   A photo from Andy Duback’s blog of the bride and groom is one of my new all time favorites with the couple kissing and a pair of cows in the background.  Perfection.  Congratulations to Brenda and Mark!

Rustic Elegance At The Mountain Top Inn

Wednesday, December 5th, 2012

Jenn and David  had a fall wedding at The Mountain Top Inn this October on such a beautiful, crisp day.  This color palette has a timeless elegance with white, champagne and deep red to bring a touch of autumn, taking “fall flowers” to their most romantic end.  Rustic details were brought in with birch centerpieces and table names burned into wood slabs.  I adore this wedding!

The bride carried a bouquet of peach garden roses, white ranunculus, freesia, roses and peach dahlias.

Bridesmaids each wore their own shade and style of champagne dress with cowgirl boots and carried bouquets of peach and red dahlias, roses and eucalyptus.

The red dahlias added such a perfect pop to the classic peach and white palette.

Here’s a look at the bouquets in their blumeboxes.

The ceremony took place in the field with amazing mountain views all around.

Centerpieces designed in birch containers were filled with puffy white hydrangea, ranunculus, peach roses and deep red dahlias.

Taller bark wrapped vases mix up the look of the table pieces.  I LOVED their table names, each was named after a variety of tree.

Here’s another shot with the table names on wood slabs.

Congratulations to Jen and David who not only planned their destination Vermont wedding, but also moved right in the middle of it all!  You looked fantastic in your wedding garbs and your wedding party had pizazz with a country twang!  This is truly one of my favorite fall weddings ever and I hope to design in this color palette again.

Romantic Peach, Pink, Yellow And White Wedding Flowers

Thursday, November 29th, 2012

Katie and Kellen had a picture perfect day for their Labor Day Weekend wedding at The Grand Isle Lake House.  The color palette was comprised of soft romantic peaches, pinks, yellows and white.  I absolutely adore the colors of this vintage inspired wedding and all the eclectic details.  The feeling was gardeny and relaxed while still keeping a style of wedding elegance.  In my opinion the peach roses are the stars of the show.  (That is, if you don’t count Katie who was absolutely beautiful!)

Here’s a look at the bride and bridesmaid’s bouquets.  The wedding party’s flowers often set the tone for the overall floral vibe for the day.

The bride carried a bouquet of white dahlias, peach and pale yellow roses, ranunculus and callas.

The bridesmaids’ bouquets also included pink ranunculus accents.  Green jute tied the stems together.

Garden-style centerpiece designed in silver bowls were filled with hydrangea, roses, spray roses, dahlias, japanese pussy willow and seeded eucalyptus.

Pale yellow tea tins filled with hydrangea, roses, dahlias, cottage yarrow and waxflower accented some of the dining tables on the porch.

Julep cups with a faux mercury glass finish also graced cocktail tables.

The outdoor ceremony was complete with an arbor, wooden sap buckets and mason jars lining the aisle.

Here’s a closer look at the flowers on the arbor.

The bride wrapped mason jars with twine to line the aisle.

Here’s one final shot of the centerpieces all packed and ready for delivery.

Congratulations to Katie and Kellen on your beautiful destination wedding!  Family and friends seemed to be enjoying the day on the Lake House before the festivities even started.  I’m sure Andy Duback got some fantastic shots of you both and I cannot wait to see them.

Fall Wedding In Grand Isle, VT

Thursday, November 1st, 2012

Chelsea and Jeremy’s September wedding at The Ferry Watch Inn in Grand Isle was so much fun to design and I’m especially happy to share some of their details with you today.  I’ve done a few purple inspired weddings this season (like here & here for example and Yes, I’m totally posting this season’s events out of order, but so what?!) and in this palette you’ll find the soft yellow and pale pink accents really make purple and lavender sing.

Their overall style was etherial and rustic with nothing too manicured or traditional.  The bride carried a bouquet of dahlias, ranunculus, scabiosa (both flowers and pods), fresh lavender, freesia, lysmachia and lisianthus.

Chelsea’s bridesmaids got to choose their own dresses and each wore a different shade of purple (they looked STUNNING by the way!).  They carried bouquets of lavender scabiosa, stock, yellow roses, pink ranunculus, white dahlias, lysmachia, lisianthus and fresh lavender accents with bunny grass.

Here’s a closer look at one of the girl’s bouquets.

When guests arrived to the barn there was no question they were in the right place!  The C & J initials were such a great touch.

A little rain did not dampen the spirits of anyone on this day and the barn made a perfect setting for the indoor ceremony and my birch chuppah fit in just right!

Mason jars adorned the chairs down the aisle.

Centerpieces were designed in rustic tin containers filled with pink gerberas, dahlias, billy balls, scabiosa, millet, eucalyptus, trachellium, stock and hydrangea.

A clear top tent brought the outside scenery into the reception space.

The bride made burlap table runners to keep with the rustic look.

The cake was stunning.  (I know, I already used that adjective to describe the bridesmaids, but seriously, it’s the most apt description here!)  Bakearia made a true confectionery masterpiece.

I love this shot my husband took of the head table.  The “formal” head table is SO back this year and I’m loving it.

Congratulations to Chelsea and Jeremy!  It was great working with you and I’m so glad you enjoyed your day.  You both looked absolutely fantastic and your “non-fall” colors were a fun departure from the traditional seasonal tones!

August Wedding At Castle Hill Resort

Wednesday, October 17th, 2012

Jaime and Kyle’s destination wedding at Castle Hill Resort & Spa in Cavendish this August was an elegant tented affair with rustic details.  A palette of gray, purple, lavender, green and magenta came together beautifully with fresh lavender, thistle, hydrangea, dahlias and freesia working as feature flowers with a seasonal feel.

The bride carried a bouquet of white dahlias, purple lisianthus, lavender and hot pink freesia, sweet peas, dusty miller and hydrangea for a seasonal, summertime feeling.

Bridemaids’ bouquets included hot pink dianthus, mini green hydrangea, purple lisianthus, freesia and dusty miller.

Boutonnieres of lavender, rosemary and trachellium for the men made for a natural accent that was not too flowery.

I love a shot of the flowers all loaded in the van before delivery!

The garden at Castle Hill Resort makes for a beautiful ceremony site.

Centerpieces were designed in bark wrapped vases and included dahlias, lisianthus, thistle, hydrangea, dianthus and lavender spray roses.

The tent was so elegant.  The combination of the slate gray linens, the gold and black chairs and the rustic centerpieces made for such a unique and wonderful display.

So many rustic details added a nice mix to the elegance of the day.

Custom made reusable water bottles were a thoughtful eco-friendly choice for favors.

A close up of the ceremony arrangement designed in a wooden sap bucket included hybrid delphinium, snapdragons, hydrangea, trachellium, dianthus, thistle and seeded eucalyptus.

Chalk board table numbers and signage were a super cute touch!

Congratulations to Jaime and Kyle!  What a beautiful day you had.  I got to see some of the pre-wedding photo shoot and I cannot wait to see photos from Daria and Andy Bishop!

Summer Wedding In North Hero Island, Vermont

Wednesday, August 29th, 2012

Today’s summer wedding is a peach, pink, coral, yellow and white color combo for a lovely bride named Summer and her groom, Eric.  It was also a big day for their beautiful daughter who got to be a flower girl!  This was a destination wedding for the couple, however, they wanted something that felt easy and low key.  It was an incredible day on the shores of Lake Champlain for their weekend at Shore Acres in North Hero Island, Vermont.

The bride carried a bouquet of peach & coral roses with pink ranunculus, yellow roses, white & yellow spray roses, freesia and lisianthus.

The bouquet was finished with a band of green silk dupioni ribbon.

The wedding guests sat at one large table with eclectic bottles filled with fresh blooms.

One of my favorite details from the day are these linens from Anthropologie.  I thought they were vintage when I saw them.  So sweet.

Maple syrup with maple leaf cookie cutters made a nice favor table display.

Pinwheels pointed guests to their seats.

The day was spectacularly clear and sunny despite a prediction of rain in the forecast.

Congratulations to Summer and Eric!…and Madeline, too!  An intimate wedding with thoughtful details on the shores of Lake Champlain sounds pretty perfect to me.

July Wedding at Shelburne Farms

Wednesday, August 8th, 2012

Carly and Charlie (do you love how that sounds as much as I do?) were married in Shelburne with a reception at The Coach Barn at Shelburne Farms this July.  There is something to be said for planning your wedding and being somewhat laid back about the details that others can get bogged down by…Carly was as trusting as a bride can be about letting me bring her “casual, wildflower feel” to life.  This couple had fun with the table numbers (they used different football players’ names in personalized frames!) and even had an arcade game for guests to practice their hunting skills on “Big Buck”.  I bet their guests got a kick out of that!

The bride’s bouquet featured yellow dahlias, mini green hydrangea, yellow, orange & white ranunculus, fresh mint and bupleurum.

The bridesmaids wore black dresses (beautiful, summery black dresses!) and carried bouquets that featured yellow roses.

Centerpieces in mason jars were filled with snapdragons, ranunculus, dahlias, freesia, roses, cottage yarrow and crespedia for a fresh-from-the-field wildflower feeling.

A wooden sap bucket greeted guests as they entered the coach barn.

Seating cards stamped with either a chicken, fish or carrot pointed guests in the right direction.

On a bright sunny day the Coach Barn was filled with light.

A little color in the courtyard welcomes guests.

Here is one more shot of the attendants’ bouquets all boxed up for delivery.  Love those yellow roses.

Congratulations to Carly and Charlie!  I often think about how exciting it must be for guests to visit Shelburne Farms for the first time as they drive down the road past the Dairy Barn, past the sheep and cows in the pasture, catching glimpses of Lake Champlain along the way and finally arriving on the shore of the lake on such a magnificent day.  Vermont at its finest.

July Wedding At Grand Isle Lake House

Wednesday, July 18th, 2012

Krista and Andy had the most incredible day for their Vermont wedding in Grand Isle this July.  Their ceremony at Ira Allen Chapel was filled with laughter and afterwards guests headed up to Grand Isle Lake House for a tented reception on the lawn.  The bride was not afraid of color so we used vibrant blooms to create a summer garden feeling.

Krista carried a bouquet of pink peonies, raspberry pink roses, yellow freesia, orange, yellow & pink ranunculus and bupleurum tied with a silk ribbon and finished with two broaches that the bride selected.

I also like to show a bouquet from the bride’s perspective.  Pearl pins mark the back of this bouquet.

Bridesmaids’ bouquets include mini green hydrangea, orange & raspberry pink roses, dianthus, freesia and bupleurum for a nice contrast to their navy dresses.

A sweet little flower girl basket for an important member of the wedding party!

Raspberry pink was the accent color for the sashes on the girls’ dresses as well as the boutonnieres for the men.

Colorful centerpieces in silver bowls added a pop of color and elegance under the tent.

I loved this super sweet signage for the grandmother of the bride and other important guests!

A formal head table is back in style this season!

Ceremony arrangements were transferred into sap buckets for the reception.

Here is a sign that guests love to see at a wedding!

Centerpieces were lined up and ready to be placed on the tables.

And finally, a toss bouquet of peony and roses.

Congratulations to Krista and Andy!  A truly beautiful day greeted you and your guests in a picture perfect setting!  I hope it was all you dreamed it would be and more.
